Globally renowned non-governmental organisation, One Campaign; and Nigeria’s leading digital news platform, Newspread.ng will on Monday, 20 February host a Twitter Space with young Nigerians, starting by 5 pm.
The discussion, which is centred around the upcoming general elections, will get young people speaking about the issues that matter to them vis-a-vis the electoral promises of the political parties.
According to a statement on Sunday by the Editor-in-Chief of Newspread, Mr Uche Nnadozie, the virtual talk show will focus on “Nigeria Elections: A Critical Look at Parties’ Stance on Issues Affecting Young People”.
Presidential and national legislative elections come up on Saturday 25 February, amid currency scarcity which has affected economic activities nationwide and heightened tension among the people.
The Twitter Space will feature diverse speakers of different backgrounds. It will be moderated by One Campaign’s Chinwe Abuwa.
The speakers include, a lawyer based in Aba, Abia State, Ekebuisi Onyemachi. He is a social commentator who has handled series of election petitions as a legal practitioner.
Marufat Abdulsalam is another contributor. She is a Law student at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State.
There is also Adrian Odife, an anatomist based in Awka, Anambra State. The young business entrepreneur is a fashion designer who likes discussing empowerment for young women and the general business environment.
Sam Emehelu, a top journalist, public and data analyst whose body of work spans over two decades, will bring his wealth of experience to bear on the topic.
The statement said that Newspread will continue to provide avenues to get Nigerians from all works of life talking on the issues they care about.
Since its launch, the news website has made impact in disseminating information about Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora.
