An International business firm, TMDK Group, has distributed bags of rice and maize flour to more than 15,000 beneficiaries as Ramadan welfare packages in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara.
Speaking at the distribution exercise in Talata Mafara on Sunday, the Chairman and CEO of the group, Alhaji Amadu Sule, said the Ramadan gesture was aimed at cushioning the impact of the economic challenges and strengthening community resilience at the grassroots level.
Sule, represented by the General Manager of the group, Alhaji Sa’adu Aliyu-Modaci, said the foodstuffs were aimed at supporting the less-privileged and vulnerable members in the community during the Holy month month of Ramadan.
The CEO added that TMDK was always concerned about welfare of the people, stating that the beneficiaries were carefully selected from various communities in Talata Mafara LGAs.
‘The beneficiaries comprised widows, orphans, low-income families, unemployed youths, women and other economically vulnerable individuals.
‘Each beneficiary received one bag of rice and one bag of maize flour.
‘You know, we at TMDK are a family and I’m business, it is all about giving back to our people’, he explained
According to him, Ramadan is a blessed month, a month of mercy, sacrifice, patience, and compassion
‘This is the holy month of Ramadan, If Allah blesses you, you shall extend that blessing to others.
‘A total of 7,000 bags of rice and over 10,000 bags of maize flour were provided to more than 15,000 beneficiaries.
‘It is a period when we are reminded that whatever Allah has given us is a trust, and part of that trust is to care for one another’, he admonished.
Sule recalled that the programme started with only 100 bags in previous years, adding, ‘Alhamdulillah, today we are distributing over 7,000 bags of rice, over 10,000 bags of maize flour to more than 15,000 beneficiaries.
