President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed that his administration is focused on delivering tangible results for Nigerians, insisting that his government was elected to work and not merely occupy public office.
The President made the declaration on Wednesday during the inauguration of the newly completed Akinwumi Ajibola Street, comprising Important Local Streets (ILS) 16, 18 and 19, in the Gaduwa District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Tinubu was represented at the event by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
Speaking at the commissioning, the President described the road project as a symbol of his administration’s commitment to fulfilling the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda through the delivery of critical infrastructure.
“We are here to open a road, but more importantly, we are here to restore access,” Tinubu said.
“Under the Renewed Hope Agenda, we said clearly: we did not come to occupy space. We came to work. Today, that promise is visible on these streets.”
He added that his administration would continue to measure its performance by completed projects that directly improve the lives of Nigerians.
“In this government, we measure ourselves by finished work. This street is finished work,” the President stated.
Tinubu also highlighted his administration’s commitment to ensuring adequate funding and timely execution of infrastructure projects across the country.
According to him, the newly completed road, alongside its drainage systems and street lighting, reflects the government’s determination to deliver quality infrastructure that enhances connectivity and supports economic development.
