The Managing Director of Aero airline, Ado Sanusi, has called for stronger collaboration between the Federal Government and private-sector operators to accelerate the growth of Nigeria’s aviation industry and support national economic development.
Sanusi made the call during a working visit by the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination and Head of the Central Results Delivery Coordination Unit (CRDCU), Hadiza Usman, to Aero Contractors’ facilities, including its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) centre.
During the visit, Usman toured the airline’s MRO facility and interacted with the company’s management and engineering personnel to gain a better understanding of how government policies could better support private investment in the aviation sector.
Speaking after the visit, Sanusi described the engagement as a positive step towards strengthening cooperation between government and industry stakeholders, noting that direct interaction with policymakers would help create a more enabling environment for business growth.
He said Usman’s interest in the challenges and opportunities within the aviation industry reflected a commitment to improving policies that would enhance the sector’s performance.
According to Sanusi, sustained collaboration between public officials and private-sector operators would encourage practical solutions capable of attracting investment, improving service delivery and increasing the aviation industry’s contribution to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
