Chinese Consul General Yan Yuqing is scheduled to visit Grace Schools, Gbagada, Lagos, on Tuesday, July 15, as part of efforts to strengthen ties between the school and the Chinese Consulate.
According to the school, the visit will focus on its Chinese language and cultural education programme, which has been integrated into the curriculum of both its primary and secondary schools.
Executive Director of Grace Schools, Mrs. Olatokunbo Edun, said the institution has invested in training teachers in Chinese language through a partnership with the Confucius Institute at the University of Lagos. She said the collaboration is intended to enhance teachers’ proficiency and broaden their exposure to Chinese language instruction.
Edun noted that the upcoming visit will be the second by a Chinese Consul General to the school and is expected to provide an opportunity to assess the progress of its Chinese language programme and cultural initiatives.
She added that the visit will also feature cultural presentations by students, including Chinese cultural displays, poetry recitations and language demonstrations.
Grace Schools says the initiatives form part of its efforts to equip students with international language skills and cross-cultural exposure.
