Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has commended President Bola Tinubu following the rescue of victims abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the operation as evidence of the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling insecurity.
In a statement, Abiodun said the successful rescue of the victims without harm reflected the President’s resolve to secure their release and ensure those responsible were brought to justice.
He said the arrest of some of the suspected kidnappers and the killing of others during the operation demonstrated that security agencies were intensifying efforts to combat kidnapping, banditry, terrorism and other violent crimes across the country.
According to the governor, the operation sends a strong message that criminal groups will continue to face sustained action by security agencies.
Abiodun commended the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), local intelligence operatives and other security personnel involved in the operation, praising what he described as their professionalism, courage and coordinated response.
He also lauded Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for working with the Federal Government and security agencies throughout the victims’ captivity, saying the collaboration contributed to the successful outcome.
The governor said the operation reinforced the effectiveness of the Federal Government’s security strategy, implemented in collaboration with state governments and security agencies.
He urged Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could help prevent criminal activities.
Abiodun reaffirmed Ogun State’s commitment to working with the Federal Government, neighbouring states and security agencies to strengthen security across the South-West.
He also congratulated President Tinubu, Governor Makinde and the leadership of the country’s security agencies on the successful operation, expressing confidence that the achievement would strengthen ongoing efforts to improve security nationwide.
