Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer Davido has revealed that his monthly personal expenses in Nigeria range between $200,000 and $300,000, excluding major costs such as his wife’s expenses, household maintenance, luxury vehicles and jewellery.
The Afrobeats star made the disclosure during a live conversation on Davrel Twitch on Tuesday, where he compared his spending habits in Nigeria with those in the United States.
Davido said he spends considerably less while in the United States because his household consists only of himself, his wife and their children.
“I actually spend less in Yankee because I live with just me, my wife and my kids,” he said.
“When I’m around, I spend a lot more. We are balling every day.”
Asked to estimate his monthly expenditure, the singer said it typically falls between $200,000 and $300,000, stressing that the figure relates only to his personal spending.
“I can’t tell you how much, but I can tell you like 300. Normally, probably like 200 to 300.
“This is minus my wife and the house… that one is closed. Minus buying jewellery or buying car,” he said.
Separately, Davido recently announced plans to establish a mental health therapy centre for former celebrities who have struggled to cope after losing fame and success.
Speaking about the proposed initiative, he said: “If there is one thing I could do, I would build a centre for people that have been popular and very successful before.”
