Nigeria’s U-20 men’s team, the Flying Eagles, have arrived in Ivory Coast ahead of the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship, where they will begin the defence of their title this weekend.
The defending champions landed in Abidjan on Monday before travelling by road to the tournament host city of Yamoussoukro, where they are staying at the Trio Corridor Hotel.
Nigeria will open their Group B campaign against Ghana’s Black Satellites at the Lycée Scientifique on Monday in a repeat of the 2024 final in Lomé, where the Flying Eagles claimed a 2-1 victory to win the regional title.
Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s side will then take on Togo’s Sparrow Hawks on Thursday before concluding their group-stage fixtures against Burkina Faso’s Young Stallions on Sunday, 2 August.
The Flying Eagles will be looking to retain the WAFU B U-20 title as they continue their preparations for forthcoming continental competitions.
