The Yeye Bobajiro Oduduwa, Chief Afolashade Shona-Aluko, has expressed condolences to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, over the death of his immediate elder brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi.
In a condolence message made available to Saturday PUNCH on Friday, Shona-Aluko described the prince’s passing as a profound loss to the Ogunwusi Royal Family, the Ojaja Royal Dynasty and the people of Ile-Ife.
She described the late prince as an accomplished entrepreneur, philanthropist and distinguished gentleman whose humility, generosity and commitment to humanity earned him widespread admiration.
According to her, the tributes that have continued to pour in since his death reflect the lasting impact he made during his lifetime and the many lives he touched through his kindness and service.
“As one who has been greatly honoured by Your Imperial Majesty, I share in the grief of the royal family at this difficult moment. I pray that the Almighty grants Your Majesty the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and comforts every member of the Ogunwusi family,” she said.
Shona-Aluko said that although the prince’s death was painful, his legacy of integrity, selfless service and dedication to his family and society would continue to inspire future generations.
She also prayed for the peaceful repose of Prince Adetunji’s soul and for God to grant the Ooni and members of the Ogunwusi family the strength to bear the loss.
Reaffirming her solidarity with the monarch and the people of Ile-Ife during the mourning period, Shona-Aluko expressed confidence that the late prince’s enduring legacy and cherished memories would remain a source of strength and inspiration to the royal family and all who knew him.
