Media personality, Toke Makinwa has introduced her daughter, Yakira Eliana, to the public for the first time in celebration of the child’s first birthday.
The broadcaster shared a collection of photographs on Instagram on Friday, accompanied by a heartfelt message reflecting on her journey into motherhood and expressing gratitude as her daughter reached the milestone.
Describing Yakira as the “best part” of her life, Makinwa said she was ready to share her with the world after keeping her largely out of the public eye during her first year.
She referred to the toddler as her “answered prayer”, “greatest love” and “greatest blessing”, adding that the past year had strengthened her faith. In her message, Makinwa declared that “God can be trusted” and spoke of experiencing El Roi — a biblical name meaning “the God who sees” — while celebrating her daughter’s birthday.
The television personality also affectionately called Yakira by several family nicknames, including “YaYa”, “Ya Pom Pom”, “Ya Mama” and “my little bum bum”.
Makinwa announced she was expecting a child in August 2025, describing the pregnancy as the most significant chapter of her life. She later confirmed the birth of Yakira that same month, calling her daughter a miracle and an answered prayer.
Her pregnancy generated widespread discussion online, with some social media users speculating about the identity of the child’s father, as Makinwa had not publicly disclosed being in a relationship. Others questioned the authenticity of her pregnancy. Despite the speculation, the media personality maintained her privacy and later announced the safe arrival of her daughter.
