The Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS) will hold its 13th annual summit on Tuesday and Wednesday to examine ways of strengthening security and protecting lives and property in Lagos State.
The two-day summit, scheduled for 11 and 12 August 2026, will take place at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, from 9am daily.
The event, convened under the leadership of ALARHOSPS President, Otunba Nurudeen Ojira-Adeiyan, has as its theme, “Security: Sanctity of Lives and Safety of Property: Creating a New Norm in Lagos State.”
According to the association, the summit will provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss emerging security challenges and consider practical measures for improving the protection of residents and their property.
The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening the state’s security architecture, community participation, collaboration among security and other relevant agencies, as well as strategies for improving public safety.
ALARHOSPS said the summit forms part of its contribution to governance and public policy discussions in Lagos State, drawing on the experience of its members, who served as senior public officials during their careers.
The association said the choice of security as the focus of this year’s summit reflects the need for greater collective responsibility in maintaining a safe environment, particularly in Lagos, which has experienced rapid population growth and urban expansion.
Members of the association are expected to draw on their experience in public administration and governance to offer recommendations that could complement ongoing efforts by the Lagos State Government to improve security and promote socio-economic development.
The summit is also expected to bring together current and former public office holders, security experts, policymakers and representatives of the public and private sectors.
ALARHOSPS said the gathering would provide an opportunity for stakeholders to exchange experiences, assess existing security policies and develop practical ideas for addressing contemporary security challenges.
The association has invited stakeholders, members of the public and the media to participate in the summit, which it said would contribute to discussions on building a safer and more resilient Lagos.
The event is expected to conclude with recommendations aimed at supporting efforts to strengthen security governance, protect lives and property, and create an environment conducive to economic and social development in the state.
