Dangote Refinery has reduced the gantry price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel, by N80 per litre, bringing its latest price below the cost of imported diesel.

According to a new price template issued to its customers, the refinery’s diesel will be sold at N1,700 per litre from Wednesday, down from the previous price of N1,780 per litre.

The reduction means Dangote Refinery has lowered its gantry price by N80 per litre.

Checks by DAILY POST against the import landing cost published by the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) in its petroleum products price bulletin dated October 5, 2026, showed that imported diesel currently lands in Nigeria at between N1,775 and N1,785 per litre.

With the latest adjustment, Dangote Refinery’s diesel is therefore between N75 and N85 per litre cheaper than imported AGO.

The development places the refinery’s product below the prevailing import parity price, potentially giving marketers an incentive to source diesel locally rather than rely on imported supplies.

The price reduction comes amid crude oil prices of about $89 per barrel for West Texas Intermediate and $101 per barrel for Brent crude at the time of reporting.
