Social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has challenged Apostle Arome over his claim that he spent four years and six months in Boko Haram territory, where his team reportedly held open-air crusades.
Arome, in a recent sermon, claimed that his team conducted crusades in a Boko Haram enclave every year.
He also recalled an incident where some members of his team travelled at night despite his warning and were reportedly captured by the insurgents.
Reacting to the claim, VDM questioned why Boko Haram attacks and killings have continued if Arome had conducted crusades in areas controlled by the insurgents.
He said, “You are going further to show that you are not a true man of God, and you are just a liar. How? If you have done crusade there with the power you claim you have, till tomorrow Boko Haram will still be attacking people, killing people. So why did you not stop them?”
VDM also demanded evidence of the alleged crusades, saying he had never seen a flyer advertising an event held in a Boko Haram-controlled area.
“We have never, never seen a flyer of your crusade in Boko Haram territory,” he said.
He argued that holding a crusade in a relatively secure part of Borno State was different from entering a Boko Haram-controlled “red zone.”
The activist challenged Arome to announce his next crusade in the area and make it available for the public to watch.
“Your next crusade in the red zone, please make it known… Let’s all share the flyers. I would like to be present online… Let’s just stream live,” he said.
VDM further questioned why the military would still be required to fight the insurgency if Arome possessed the level of spiritual power he claimed.
