The state government disclosed in a statement on Sunday that Governor Dapo Abiodun is expected to perform the groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, 12 November 2026, as the administration intensifies efforts to attract major investments, boost manufacturing and create jobs.
The proposed industrial complex will accommodate 29 factories, alongside commercial, hospitality, conference and recreational facilities. The development is expected to strengthen Ogun State’s position as a destination for large-scale industrial investment.
According to the government, the factories will produce a variety of goods, including footwear, leather products, plastics, packaging materials, personal care products and household items. The supporting facilities are intended to provide additional services for businesses and visitors within the complex.
The park’s location along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, close to the Sagamu Interchange, is expected to offer manufacturers convenient access to major markets in Ogun and Lagos states, as well as distribution routes serving other parts of West Africa.
The project is also expected to generate employment opportunities during construction and subsequent operations, while creating additional demand for local suppliers, transport and logistics companies, contractors and service providers.
Small and medium-sized enterprises could also benefit from opportunities to supply goods and services to the factories, potentially strengthening linkages between large-scale manufacturers and local businesses.
The proposed development aligns with the Abiodun administration’s economic priorities, which include industrialisation, infrastructure expansion, investment promotion and employment generation. Ogun’s proximity to Lagos, road network and established industrial clusters have helped position the state as an attractive location for manufacturing and other business activities.
