Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile and his longtime partner, Davita Omoniyi, have captured attention online after unveiling wedding photographs showcasing elaborate Benin-inspired traditional outfits.

The couple’s fashion choices have drawn praise from fans, with their coordinated looks highlighting the cultural significance of traditional attire at Nigerian wedding celebrations.

Zlatan, whose real name is Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, appeared in a white traditional outfit adorned with red bead details. He completed the look with layered coral necklaces, a matching cap and a carved staff.

Davita complemented her husband’s ensemble in a striking red gown featuring intricate beadwork. Her outfit was accessorised with several strands of coral beads, matching earrings and an elaborate traditional headpiece.

The groom’s groomsmen also wore matching Benin-inspired native outfits, adding to the cultural theme of the celebration.

The use of coral beads and other traditional accessories gave the couple’s appearance a regal touch, prompting conversations about Nigerian heritage and the place of indigenous fashion in modern wedding ceremonies.

The wedding celebration marks a significant milestone for Zlatan and Davita, who have been together for several years and share two sons.

The couple reportedly held a private civil ceremony before photographs from the occasion surfaced online in May 2026.

They later announced 24 October 2026 as the date for their wedding celebration in a social media video featuring a voiceover from one of their children.

In the video, their son spoke about the love and support shared by his parents, giving the announcement a personal family dimension.

The announcement, shared alongside the hashtag #DTTheUnion, generated excitement among fans anticipating the couple’s public celebration.

The wedding photographs have prompted congratulatory messages and positive reactions across social media, with fans commenting on the couple’s appearance and their choice of traditional attire.

While some users focused on the regal styling and detailed beadwork, others praised the celebration’s emphasis on cultural identity.

Zlatan’s coordinated appearance with his groomsmen also attracted attention, with their matching outfits reinforcing the traditional theme of the event.

Interest in the wedding had been building in the days leading up to the celebration. On 23 October, Israel DMW, an associate of fellow Nigerian music star Davido, disclosed that he had paid ₦1.2 million for the wedding’s aso ebi fabric.

The revelation triggered online discussions about the cost of coordinated wedding clothing at high-profile celebrity events.

Zlatan rose to prominence in Nigeria’s music scene through his street-pop sound, with his hit song Zanku (Leg Work) helping to establish his profile among music audiences.

He has since built a career in Afrobeats, releasing numerous songs and collaborating with other Nigerian artistes.

Despite his public profile, the rapper has generally kept details of his family life away from the spotlight.

His wedding celebration with Davita has now brought their relationship into renewed public focus, with fans celebrating both the couple’s union and their embrace of Nigerian traditional fashion.
