President Bola Tinubu has directed the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to ensure the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the killing of Islamic preacher Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Masussuka and his friend, Adamu Abubakar, in Katsina State.

The two men were killed in a drive-by shooting in Dutsin-Ma on Monday evening by unidentified gunmen.

Tinubu condemned the killings, describing them as a dastardly and heinous act and an assault on the values of peace and the sanctity of human life.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the President’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said Tinubu was deeply saddened by news of the incident.

The President also extended his condolences to the families of the deceased, their followers, and the government and people of Katsina State over the tragic loss.

According to the statement, Tinubu directed security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for the killings.

“The President has directed the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to move swiftly, intensify efforts already underway by the Katsina State Police Command, and ensure the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice,” the statement read.

The President’s directive comes as security agencies continue efforts to track down the suspects and bring them to justice.
