Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators to give his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, space to recover amid their ongoing marital crisis.
Nwoko made the appeal in a statement shared on his social media page on Monday, expressing concern about Daniels’ well-being and the circulation of what he described as false reports about her health and personal life.
He said the appeal was important not only for the actress but also for their children, who, according to him, deserved to see their mother supported as she worked towards recovery.
“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space.
“I make this appeal not just for her sake, but also for the sake of the kids, who are very well cared for and deserve to see their mother supported, loved and given every opportunity to get better,” he said.
The senator added that Daniels had experienced difficulties that members of the public might not fully understand, urging people to respond with compassion rather than criticism or judgement.
“Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me. It is, in fact, the very concern that brought much of our private situation into the public domain,” he stated.
Nwoko also condemned the circulation of fabricated death announcements and other reports which he said had caused distress to the actress.
He warned that individuals responsible for deliberately spreading false information about Daniels could face legal action.
“Let me make this very clear: I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health or personal circumstances,” he said.
