The Ekiti Future Agenda and Socio-Economic Development Organisation (EFA) has inaugurated its restructured Central Working Team and inducted officers into four newly established operational directorates as part of efforts to strengthen its institutional capacity and promote sustainable development in Ekiti State.
The inauguration and induction ceremony took place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in Ado-Ekiti during a special meeting of the organisation’s newly restructured Central Working Team.
The exercise marks a new phase in EFA’s development, with the organisation seeking to improve its coordination, deepen development advocacy and promote evidence-based policy engagement.
The newly inaugurated Central Working Team is chaired by Dr Sikiru Olowoyo, while Dr Babatunde Ajayi serves as Secretary. The team is responsible for providing strategic direction, coordinating the activities of the directorates and overseeing the implementation of the organisation’s programmes.
Four operational directorates were also inaugurated, with their respective heads and secretaries formally inducted after taking their oaths of office.
The leadership of the directorates comprises Dr Damilola Owoeye as Chairman and Mr Bayo Abiodun as Secretary of the Directorate of Policy and Research; Mrs Ijeoma Adeniyi as Chairperson and Mr Olumide Nathaniel as Secretary of the Directorate of Communication.
The Directorate of Projects and Impact is headed by Rt Hon Toba Fatunla, with Mr Pelumi Abiara as Secretary, while Mr Funso Balogun and Ms Olumide Esther will serve as Chairman and Secretary of the Directorate of Grassroots Mobilisation, respectively.
The directorates are expected to promote specialisation, improve operational efficiency and ensure that the organisation’s advocacy initiatives translate into practical programmes and measurable development outcomes.
Speaking at the meeting, EFA’s Board of Trustees Chairman and Convener, Adesina Adetola, emphasised the importance of collective responsibility, strategic coordination and sustained commitment to the organisation’s objectives.
He said the success of the restructuring would depend on the ability of the Central Working Team and the directorates to work together, develop actionable plans and deliver tangible results.
Adetola reiterated that EFA was established to mobilise people, ideas, resources and opportunities towards building a prosperous, inclusive and self-sustaining Ekiti State.
He also reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to remaining an independent and non-partisan development advocacy and accountability platform.
According to him, EFA intends to engage constructively with the government and other stakeholders by offering informed policy alternatives, identifying development gaps and promoting accountability, irrespective of the administration in power.
A major highlight of the meeting was the adoption of the Ekiti State 30-Year Development Plan as a reference framework for the organisation’s policy research, development advocacy and assessment of government programmes and priorities.
The meeting also identified education, grassroots participation, institutional accountability and sustainable development as priority areas for intervention.
As part of its immediate priorities, the Directorate of Policy and Research is expected to begin an evidence-based assessment of the condition and management of missionary schools in Ekiti State, with the aim of preparing a position paper for engagement with relevant authorities.
The Directorate of Grassroots Mobilisation will focus on strengthening community engagement and ensuring that citizens’ experiences, concerns and aspirations inform the organisation’s policy recommendations.
The Communication Directorate will handle public engagement and information dissemination, while the Directorate of Projects and Impact will work on translating EFA’s priorities into practical initiatives and evaluating their outcomes.
The meeting also stressed the need to expand the organisation’s institutional support base through partnerships with development-minded individuals, professional groups, civil society organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Central Working Team, Olowoyo, congratulated the newly inducted officers and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute to the organisation’s renewed direction.
Participants also commended Adetola for his consistency and sustained efforts in keeping the organisation active over the years.
They emphasised the importance of building an institution founded on shared ownership, collective service and continuity beyond individual personalities.
Following the inauguration, the directorates are expected to develop work plans, identify priority programmes and pursue initiatives aligned with EFA’s mission and the long-term development goals of Ekiti State.
Founded in 2010, the Ekiti Future Agenda and Socio-Economic Development Organisation said the restructuring would strengthen its role as a platform for development ideas, policy engagement, citizen participation and constructive accountability.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to working with relevant stakeholders towards a more prosperous and sustainable future for Ekiti State.
