Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has threatened legal action against individuals and media platforms allegedly spreading false and malicious stories about her.
The actress, through her legal representatives, issued a cease-and-desist notice dated 5 November, warning bloggers, social media users, content creators and influencers against publishing or circulating unverified claims about her.
The notice, signed by her lawyer, Tope Salami, described the publications as “untrue, misleading, unsubstantiated, and capable of damaging her professional personality, image, personal integrity, and general goodwill”.
Abraham shared the legal notice on her X account on Thursday, urging members of the public to read its contents carefully.
In the notice, her lawyers called on those involved to immediately stop publishing, reposting, endorsing or circulating statements considered defamatory about the actress across social media platforms and other communication channels.
The legal action comes amid renewed online discussions involving Abraham and fellow Nollywood actress Funke Akindele.
In October 2026, an alleged private audio conversation between Abraham and a TikTok user identified as Bisgold circulated online, triggering reactions over comments reportedly made about Akindele.
However, the authenticity and full context of the recording have not been independently established.
Abraham’s legal representatives also urged members of the public to exercise restraint and verify information before sharing or publishing it.
They stressed the need for future commentary about the actress to be factual and supported by verifiable evidence.
