Inspector-General of Police Usman Alkali; the Iyaloja-General of Lagos, Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo; Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, among others, will be recipients of the 2023 African Humanitarian Icon of Peace Award.
Others are Dr. Eniola Aborode; Lawan Dalorami; Adu Sylvester and Cardinal James Omolaja.
The three-day event in Minnesota will hold from 14th to 16th May. It would be chaired by the Governor of Minnesota, Mr. Tim Walz.
A statement by the President of African Education and Health Initiative, Mr. Oluwagbemi Kolade said the African Heroes of Democracy and Humanitarian Icon of Peace Award is an initiative designed to celebrate, particularly Nigerians and African Leaders in strategic leadership positions, peacebuilding, and who have performed well in governance, contributed greatly to human, security and community development.
