The sponsorship deal between the League Management Company (LMC) and Bitnob, a leading financial technology company, has now been signed sealed and delivered.
LMC Chairman, Shehu Dikko led his team to the signing ceremony in Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday, where Bitnob officially became an Elite Sponsor in the Financial Technology category of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), the country’s topflight league.
Last week, Dikko said that negotiation for the partnership was painstaking to ensure that both parties would have a mutually beneficial alliance to project the Fintech brand through the domestic league.
Bitnob provides payments solutions for individuals and businesses.
In April, the NPFL entered into a sponsorship partnership agreement with leading telecommunications company, MTN Nigeria and LaLiga, the men’s top professional football division of the Spanish football league system, to support the development of grassroots football in Nigeria.
The partnership is already boosting the NPFL/LaLiga U-15 Youth League. The 2022 edition of this competition was won midweek by Remo Stars which beat Shooting Stars in the final.
