Man City, Bayern tracking Flying Eagles defender

Manchester City, Bayern München and Villarreal are among the top European clubs monitoring Flying Eagles centre-back Benjamin Frederick.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the three clubs have their scouts in Argentina monitoring the defender at the ongoing 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.

Frederick put up a solid display in Nigeria’s 2-0 Round of 16 win against Argentina on Wednesday night, with all the scouts in attendance.

The youngster caught the eye of the clubs during the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The 19-year-old featured in all six games of the Flying Eagles’ and was named in the team of the tournament.

Anderlecht, FC Midtylland, and RB Leipzig all took an interest in Frederick after the competition.
