Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has named three members of the current squad that will be “big players for the club”.
Lampard was appointed interim manager at Stamford Bridge after Graham Potter was fired by co-owner Todd Boehly.
The former England midfielder has now defended how Boehly runs the English Premier League club and insists they have good intentions.
In an interview on The Diary of a CEO podcast, Lampard said: “Their intentions to do a good job are amazing; they want to take the club and be the best. They have great intentions.
“They’ve spent the money because they want to do well. If they’re going to address the situation, that is their strategy going forward, but I do think you will see players like Fernandez, Mudryk, and Madueke develop, and they’re going to be big players for the club.”
Chelsea will enter the 2023–2024 campaign with former PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino in charge of the team.
