The Ondo Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan has felicitated the state governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu on his 67th birthday, which fell due on Friday.

Akeredolu has been away from office on medical reasons since last month, but reports indicated that he is fast returning to good health.

In a statement on Friday, Olabimtan described the governor as an “embodiment of discipline, bravery, diligence and decency, worthy of emulation”.

His statement reads: “I congratulate Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, Aketi, as you clock 67 years on the surface of the earth. You are an embodiment of discipline, bravery, diligence and decency, worthy of emulation. A human right activist per excellent who have spent the better part of his life fighting for the less-privileged, downtrodden and oppressed, with countless pro bono successful cases to your credit. You detests cheating or oppression like a plague and always willing to support a just cause. I wish you more success and prosperity as you move on.

“You are a special breed, in a class of your own and clearly different for many reasons. The whole nation miss your frank, unpretentious, straightforward and upright positions on national issues. Ondo State miss your altruistic, effective and efficient leadership. Your absence remind us that indeed, you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone! You are not gone yet but the vacuum created by your temporary absence is shaking the entire state to its very foundation. Words can’t describe how I and the entire State are missing you. We all look forward to your glorious return to the glory of Almighty God.

“On this special day of yours, I join millions of your families, friends, associates, mentees, admirers, followers and supporters to wish you happy birthday and many happy returns. More importantly I wish you quick recovery so that you can come back to complete the good work you started. May God bless your new year, make it the most blissful ever and fill your years of tomorrow with abundant prosperity and joy. May God strengthen you, honour His name in your life and lengthen your days.

“Once again, congratulations and happy birthday sir”!
