The nomination of an indigene of Abuja, Hon. Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo as a minister has been described as a demonstration of commitment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to national integration.
No indigene of Abuja has been minister since Nigeria’s return to democracy 24 years ago.
According to a statement from his media office in Abuja, a major stake holder in Nigeria’s energy sector, Mr. Olawepo-Hashim, who visited the ministerial nominee at his home in Abuja over the weekend, said: “I was an active player in the transition from military rule to democracy, and served as secretary to one sub-committee of the Policy Advisory Committee. I know Abuja people have always wanted this, now it has happened. It has taken almost a quarter of a century to come.
“Those who are not from Abuja or the North Central zone will not understand how significant this is. That is why many people have been trooping from the grassroots to congratulate the honourable gentleman”.
Born on 3rd April 1970, Jisalo is a politician, public relations professional, administrator and currently represents Abuja Municipal/Bwari Constituency in the House of Representatives.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Jos, and Diploma in Public Relations from the Institute of Mass Communication and Technology.
At the Thames Valley University in London, United Kingdom, Jisalo studied Government Policies, Planning and Implementation.
