Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kingsley Obiora has been reportedly arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).

According to a report, his arrest followed allegations of financial mismanagement under suspended CBN governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele

Obiora is the Deputy Governor of the apex bank in charge of economic policy.

His arrest comes on the heels of an ongoing probe of CBN under the stewardship of Godwin Emefiele.

Recalls that Emefiele has been in the custody of the DSS since 10th June 2023, a day after President Bola Tinubu removed him from office.

In July, President Tinubu appointed a special investigator, Jim Obazee, to oversee the probe of the activities of the apex bank under Emefiele.

DSS and CBN spokespersons, Dr Peter Afunanya and Dr Isa Abdulmumin, respectively, have yet to respond to inquiry.
