Tinubu arrives India ahead of G20 Summit

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in New Delhi, the capital of India, for a six-day official visit, during which he will attend the G-20 Leaders’ Summit amongst other engagements.

The Boeing 737 conveying the President and his entourage, touched down at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, at about 6:40 pm local (2:10 pm Nigerian) time.

Before participating in the summit slated for 9th to 10th September, the President will attend several high-level meetings and engagements with other world leaders and business executives on the sidelines of the Summit.

It was reported that the President will meet with the Nigerian community in India.

According to a statement on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President Tinubu would, through various engagements, attract global capital and increase foreign direct investments to the country.

Ngelale said the President would hold roundtable talks with at least 20 business leaders from various sectors, and bilateral meetings with the leaders of India, South Korea, Brazil and Germany.

Accompanying President Tinubu on the mission are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar; Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun; Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite.

He is expected back in Abuja immediately after the summit ends on 10th September.
