Assistant police commissioner dies in Bayelsa

An Assistant Commissioner of Police attached to the Bayelsa State Police Command, Oluseye Odunmbaku, is dead.

In a terse statement on Tuesday, spokesman of the state Police command, Superintendent Asinim Butswat said the late Odunmbaku was in charge of operations at the command before his death.

“The Bayelsa State Police Command regrets to announce the demise of ACP Oluseye Odunmbaku, until his death, he was the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations.

“A condolence register has been opened at the command headquarters, Ovom, Yenagoa. May his soul rest in peace”, the statement said.

It was, however, learnt that Odunmbaku died on Saturday, October 14, 2023.

He was said to have collapsed in his residence at an estate within the state capital, Yenagoa.

“He died on Saturday. It was reported that he collapsed in his house at the estate (where he lived)”, a source said.
