It is always the joy of every parent, especially the mother to see their children prosper in life.

This was the scenario  that played out on Wednesday as Madam Clara Achudume, the mother of the Senior Pastor of Victory Life Bible Church International (VLBC), Apostle Lawrence Achudume,  betrayed emotions as her son, who is today a world-acclaimed preacher and philanthropist, stormed his place of birth, Umubu Amai community in Ukwuani Local Government in Delta State, to empower 200 petty traders with N10,000 each.

Madam Achudume who joined the beneficiaries in dancing and singing, thanked God for giving her the wherewithal as a single mother to take care of his son and his siblings.

According to Madam Achudume, she never had any inkling that her son would become highly sought-after, saying that it gives her a great sense of fulfilment to witness such during her lifetime.

Recalling his growing up days, Apostle  Achudume was full of gratitude to God for giving him the privilege to give back to his community.

He implored the beneficiaries to use the money given judiciously in order to make maximum returns, assuring residents of his town of his continued support and outreach programmes.

Taking cognisance of the current hardship being faced by citizens, he said such empowerment was his little way of ameliorating their plight.

The revered preacher then called on the government to urgently  look into the challenges being faced by rural dwellers who find it difficult to transport their farm produce and pay their children’s school fees.

High Chief Paul Aguonye  lauded Achudume, describing him as a worthy son of Amai community who has always contributed to the upkeep and welfare of the people of the area.

According to him, the cleric always give rice, chicken, condiments and cow to different households in the community during yuletide , adding that the empowerment will go a long way to alleviate the sufferings of the people.

Highpoint of the event was  the spectacular moment the VLBC main man had a dance with his mother, holding hands with her as they both relished the best of the moment.
