Ikeja Electric celebrates decade of operations, highlights achievements

Ikeja Electric has marked its 10th year anniversary, highlighting its achievements and outlining its future plans.

In a statement by the Head of Corporate Communications, Kingsley Okotie, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr Kola Adesina, commended the staff for their dedication and positioning the company as a trailblazer in the Nigerian energy sector.

Reflecting on the transformative period since 2013, he emphasised the company’s commitment to progress, innovation, and exceptional service.
Adesina recalled pivotal moments, such as the rebranding from IKEDC to IE in 2015, symbolising their dedication to progress.

He mentioned significant milestones, including the launch of a Bilateral Project in 2019, showcasing their collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence. The company also introduced a 24-hour dedicated service for bilateral operations and automated payment channels, enhancing customer experiences and setting new industry standards.

“Our passion for exceptional service delivery is evident in our initiative to adopt automated payment channels, by making transactions seamless and more efficient for our valued customers”.

“We are not just providing a service rather creating experiences that resonate with our customers”, he said.

Director of the Post Transaction Management Department at the Bureau of Public Enterprises and IE board member, Toibudeen Oduniyi, praised the staff’s innovative spirit and encouraged them to maintain their commitment to exceptional service, ensuring the company’s continued leadership in the industry.

Chief Executive Officer of Ikeja Electric, Folake Soetan, highlighted the company’s achievements, including attaining global certifications in Quality Management System, Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and Environmental Management System.

She emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, mentioning the successful deployment of 830,292 meters to customers, empowering them to manage their energy consumption.

Under Soetan’s leadership, the company achieved a significant reduction in aggregate technical commercial and collection losses, from 44 per cent in 2015 to below 20 per cent, demonstrating their dedication to operational efficiency and sustainable energy practices.  She acknowledged the contributions of Ikeja Electric Plc’s dedicated Employee Volunteer Scheme, which actively engage.
