Ahead of Saturday’s governorship poll, security has been beefed up around the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Kogi State.
This is just as the commission distributed sensitive materials to local governments.
It was observed on Friday the heavy presence of military, police, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps personnel seen around the state’s capital as citizens went about their daily activities.
Kogi State is one of the three states participating in the off-cycle election alongside Imo and Bayelsa states.
Meanwhile, the INEC has distributed sensitive materials across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
