Literature scholar, Al-Bishak endows annual prize at Lokoja varsity

African Literature scholar, Prof. Al-Bishak, who is a sabbatical staff at the Federal University, Lokoja (FUL), Kogi State, from the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, has endowed an annual prize of N50,000 for FUL, in honour of its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi.

At the event on Monday in the university premises in Lokoja, Prof. Aito Ofure supported the prize with additional N20,000.

Also in attendance were NLNG Literary Criticism prize winner and departmental staffer, Dr. Abbah Abbah; Prof. Abel Joseph; Dr. Ify Okolo; Dr. Sunday Ape; and Dr. Alhaji Solomon Iwegu; among others.

The FUL branch of the National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies, led by its President, Miss Olajumoke Saheed, also graced the occasion.
