Defending champions Manchester City will face record title holders Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of this season’s UEFA Champions League. The English side, who lifted the trophy for the first time last year, will host the first leg against Madrid as the Spanish giants seek their 15th title.
Six-time winners Bayern München will visit north London in the first leg of their tie against Arsenal, who returned to the elite competition after seven years of absence.
Barcelona, who have lifted the trophy five times, will engage Paris St-Germain with the latter hosting the first leg, while Atlético Madrid will take on Borussia Dortmund.
The draw in
Nigeria’s former captain, John Obi Mikel at at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, made the draw and recalled Chelsea’s triumph in the final of the 2011-12 edition, in which he featured. With the final at London’s Wembley Stadium on 1st June, the midfielder said he hope Manchester City or Arsenal make the last stage. “Good luck to all the other teams”, he adds.
