The Kano State Governor, Mallam Abba Yusuf will on Tuesday declare a state of emergency in the education sector.
The declaration is aiming to ensure quality education for all in Kano and accelerate efforts to improve the delivery of educational services.
This was made known in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, on Sunday.
Tofa said, “The governor, in fulfilling a crucial campaign promise outlined in his document titled ‘My Commitment for Kano,’ presented to the public in 2022 ahead of the 2023 elections, is scheduled to declare a state of emergency on Tuesday.
“The declaration of a state of emergency in education is aimed at expediting actions to provide services to guarantee access to quality education for all in Kano,.
‘“The upcoming event will bring together all relevant stakeholders in the education sector, including development partners, state and federal agencies, as well as dignitaries such as the Minister of Education, governors from other states, members of the academic community, and representatives from the media”.
