JCI Nigeria Senate Association new chairman assumes office

A multi-dimensional Chartered Insurance broker, Mr Olurotimi Akinrinade Adewole was sworn-in as the Chairman of the of the prestigious JCI Nigeria Senate Association at its Annual General Meeting last Saturday in Ibadan.

The gathering attracted many members of the association who are in various fields of human endeavours and professional disciplines within Nigeria and in the Diaspora.

JCI Nigeria Senate Association is gradually but surely gaining a foothold in the Nigerian polity. Today, it can boast of JCI Senators who are leading lights in the public service, politics, business, academia, the professions and entertainment, among other sectors.

In his acceptance speech, Adewole thanked the members of the association for finding him worthy of their trust and articulated some basic pillars that would drive his tenure; which included aggressive membership drive, strengthening the association’s brand positioning, advocacy, improvement of members wealth creation capacities through capacity development and empowerment, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders across the broader JCI system, government, and allied stakeholders.

He gave assurances that his administration would build on the solid foundation laid by the founding and successive chairmen of the progressive association.

Adewole’s ascendancy comes at a critical period in the global economy where countries, including advanced economies, are under pressure to tackle rising inflation and at the same time maintain price stability.

The ultimate challenge is how the government, other professional and advocacy groups like the JCI Nigeria Senate Association within the professional and immediate communities can work harmoniously to boost the wealth creation capacities of individuals towards ensuring better life for the citizens and improve economic development for the nation.

The AGM included the send-forth for the immediate past Senate Chairperson, Nneka Itabor.

The other executive members also sworn-in during the event include the Immediate Past Chairman, Nneka Itabor; Vice Chairman, Mrs. Modupe Ogunbiyi; Secretary-General, Edward Aigbedion; Treasurer, Olabisi Aniso; Director of Business, Feyisayomi Oyeleke; Director of International Affairs Dayo Niyi-Idowu; and Publicity Secretary, Adekunle Babatunde Samson.

Over the course of its existence, JCI Nigeria Senate Association has paraded strong and reputable men and women, who have steered the ship of the association to both significance and international repute since it first came into existence.

These include Group Chief Executive, Boff & Co. Insurance Brokers, Mr Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja, who was the Pioneer Chairman; Chairman, Wider Perspectives, Mr Kalada Apiafi (2004 – 2006);  and Principal Partner of Babatunde Ogala & Co, Mr Babatunde Kwame Ogala (2006 – 2009). Ogala, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria was National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives.

Others are Mr GWO Shoaga (2010 – 2012), Mr Mc Fintan-Ray (2012 – 2014), Mrs Jokotade Odebunmi, (2014 – 2016), Mr Cornelius Semitoje (2016 – 2018]), Dr (Mrs) Adekunbi Wuraola (2018 – 2020) and Itabor (2020 – 2022).

Adewole is coming into a familiar terrain, where his leadership and administrative capacities have been tested and trusted overtime, having served within the association’s leadership rank, and at close quarters in the years preceding his emergence as the Chairman.
