At least six persons have been reportedly killed and 26 abducted by terrorists who attacked Sabon Gida Libere, Ungwan Ganye, Ungwan Nabara, and Kadi communities of Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The bandits were said to have stormed the villages in separate attacks and unleashed terror on the residents, killing six persons and abducting 26 people.

A local, Aminu Khalid, told our correspondent in a telephone interview on Wednesday that the terrorists invaded Sabon Gida Libere on Monday, killing one person and abducting 23 people, while three people were killed at Ungwan Nabara.

Khalid said the communities were yet to establish contact with the terrorists, stressing many villages are deserted because of constant attacks.

” The terrorists have their camp close to the Libere community called the ‘ Agwala forest’ on top of a hill.

” Most communities are deserted and those in the surrounding villages could not access their farmlands.

” Government and the military must clear the bush where these terrorists are taking their refuge to restore the confidence of the surrounding communities,” he said.

When contacted, the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, did not respond to calls put to him by our correspondent as of the time of filing this report.
