An orientation workshop for the four promoted clubs from the Nigeria National League to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will hold in Abuja on Wednesday.
The workshop to be flagged off by NPFL’s Head of Operations, Davidson Owumi is scheduled to hold at Sandralia Hotel in Jabi, Abuja.
In attendance will be officials of Doma United, El-Kanemi Warriors, Bendel Insurance and Bayelsa United. The clubs’ delegation are expected to arrive on Tuesday, 1st November.
The orientation workshop is being organised to familiarise the new NPFL clubs with the operations and rules of the league.
Operational areas to be touched by various resource persons include Club Licensing/Registration, NPFL Framework and Regulations and ICT/ Communication (functional website, social media, email).
Others are Disciplinary Procedures in the NPFL, Match Day Organisation/State Football Relationship, CAF competitions, Safety and Security Procedures on Match Days and Insurance Policy in the Nigeria Professional football clubs.
Induction of newly promoted clubs is one of the significant pre-season activities of the NPFL.
The NPFL is being administered by an Interim Management Committee, which was constituted last month by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports to oversee the affairs of the Nigerian premier league. The committee will function until a substantive professional league board is put in place.
The commencement of the 2022/23 NPFL season is yet to be announced.
