FG approves Adelegan’s appointment as FETHI admin director

The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has approved the appointment of Mrs Foluso Moronke Adelegan as the substantive Director of Administration and Secretary to the Board of the Management of Federal Teaching Hospital (FETHI), Ido-Ekiti.

A letter dated 16 October 2024, with reference number SMH 587/S.17/TII./74, stated that “her appointment as the Director of Administration and Secretary to the Board of Management of the FETHI is with effect from 7th October 2024”.

A statement made available in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Sunday, stated that Adelegan “is coming into the new position with antecedents of impactful administrative acumen and immense contributions to the development of the FETHI”.

Until her appointment by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Adelegan was earlier appointed by the Board of Management of the Hospital to take over from the immediate-past Director of Administration as Head of Administration and Secretary to the Board.

The statement stated that she is the second substantive Director of Administration and Secretary to the Board of Management and the first woman to occupy the position, adding that “within the short period in the capacity, she brought a lot of transformation into the administrative processes of the hospital”.

It stated that Adelegan, a seasoned administrator, joined the services in 1999 when she was appointed by the then Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ido-Ekiti (now FETHI) and served in various capacities in the hospital, including as Head of Registry; pioneer Registrar, School of Nursing FMC and FETHI; recorder to the Board of Management; pioneer Head of Human Resources Department.

The new admin director who had been chairman to and member of different management committees, is the Treasurer of the Forum of Directors & Heads of Administration of Federal Health Institutions in Nigeria.

Adelegan, an alumnus of the University of Ado Ekiti, Ado Ekiti; Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti; Federal University, Oye Ekiti; and Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, has many professional qualifications, including AHAN, FPAM, ACIPM, MNIM, ANIPR, APAN and MIMCON.
