The Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Ondo State, Chief Agboola Ajayi, has promised to tackle the insecurity in the state, if elected.

Ajayi made the promise during his campaign tour of Ifedore and Idanre local government areas of the state.

He vowed to fortify the state’s security apparatus, Amotekun, promising robust measures to effectively curb criminal activities and ensure the safety of all citizens.

On education, Ajayi said he would make primary and secondary education free, and ensure a 30 per cent reduction in all tertiary education fees to make higher education more accessible and affordable.

On Agriculture, Ajayi pledged provision of soft loans and the implementation of modernized preservative techniques, aimed at enhancing productivity and safeguarding farm produce.

These initiatives, according to him “are poised to invigorate the agricultural sector, driving economic growth and sustainability.

Monarchs from the council areas extended their royal blessings to the candidate and his deputy, Hon. Festus Akingbaso.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Agboola Ajayi Campaign Council, Dr Eddy Olafeso, has asked the electorate to collect any inducement offered to them but vote according to their conscience, saying: “Collect money, if offered by APC and then vote them out of power”.

He appealed to Ondo residents to vote their conscience and take correct electoral decisions.

According to him: “The greatest lesson you will teach somebody in power who is corrupt and not doing what is expected of him is to take what belongs to you and do the right thing.

“They can’t force you to vote for them after you have taken whatever they wanted to give you that they should have given to you in the first instance. Nobody can say, ‘don’t take whatever they want to offer’; but the truth is that you should vote your conscience by making correct electoral decisions”.

On his assessment of the Aiyedatiwa administration in the last 10 months, Olafeso, said “Aiyedatiwa has shown no significant achievements during his 10 months in office”.

The former PDP Vice Chairman South West, said that “an Ajayi-led government would prioritize the needs of the people, if elected, claiming, “the PDP is the only party that is capable of rescuing Nigeria from its current challenges. What the PDP stood for in the past is the only way Nigeria can go through its myriad of problems.

“The party came into existence with the need to unite the country and explore the possibilities of its vast resources and the multifarious opportunities available to our people”, Olafeso said.

“I want the people of Ondo State to join the opposition party, the PDP, against the lacklustre, non-performing government of the APC that has taken eight years out of our lives and rendered us completely hopeless. The people should decide by voting out the APC in Saturday’s election”.
