Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has received 2024 National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) award for being the friendliest governor in local government administration.
Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Frank Archibong, received the award on behalf of the governor.
President-General of NULGE, Comrade Ambali Akeem, presented the award during the 8th Quadrennial State Delegate Conference of the union held at the weekend in Uyo.
He said Eno had been consistent in the payment of benefits to local government workers.
“The governor has paid leave grant arrears of 2013, 2014, 2020 and 2021 and also paid 2012, 2013 salary arrears to nine local governments. He has also paid gratuity to local government retirees from 2013”, he said.
