I’ll flush criminals out of Modakeke, new Osun CP assures monarch

The new Osun State Commissioner of Police, Faleye Sunday Olaleye has commended the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola Ajibise Ogo I over the sustenance of peace between the people of their communities.

During his courtesy visit to the palace of the Ogunsua on Tuesday, the CP said that it was the commitmemt to peace by the two monarchs that is responsible for the atmosphere of peace in the communities.

Olaleye, who prayed for the sustainability of the cordial relationship, peace and harmony, recalled that it is only peace that would ensure development in the communities.

He promised to assist Modakeke in sustaining peace by constantly flushing out undesirable elements from the community.

The new CP disclosed that he has a zero tolerance for crime, reiterating that that was the reason that he raided some of the known hideouts of criminals across the state.

Responding, Oba Toriola commended the professionalism by the CP and his team with a pledge to use all that is within his power and authority to promote peace.

The Ogunsua enjoined the police chief to increase the number of the his officers that would maintain and keep peace in the community in general and his palace in particular.

Oba Toriola assured the CP that he would be ready to assist the police authorities in their statutory duties to fight crime in his community.

The President of Modakeke Progressives Union, Mr Julius Odegbemi was full of praise for the CP for deeming it fit to visit the traditional ruler.

On the entourage of the CP were top officers of the command, including the Ife Area Commander and the Divisional Police Officers of Ife zone in Modakeke, Ipetumodu and Ifetedo.

Also in  attendance were the state chairman of the Police-Community Relations Committee, Alhaji Popoola Ogundoyin (aka POPLAT); the State Director of the Department of State Service and the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Yemisi Opalola.
