It was a promise made and kept as Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo completed the construction of the 12.5 kilometre Ezira-Umuomaku-Enugu Umuonyia-Achina Road, linking several communities.

With the ongoing and completed road projects in the state, Soludo has literally turned the state into a construction site in his pursuit of transforming the state into a country-wide destination brand.

According to a community leader in Omuoanyia, Mr. Izuchuckwu Eze, the governor, who has been embarking on several road rehabilitation projects, kept his promise with the 12.5km road, which “will make our communities along the road easily accessible, farm products available to other parts of the state, and small-scale businesses in the locality boosted”.

Recently, Soludo commissioned the 11.9km Mmiata-Anam-Nzam Road, which links to the headquarters of Anambra West Local Government Area (LGA).

While inspecting the completed project, Soludo said: ” I promised Ndi Anambra West that if l fail to build that road to your headquarters, that if l ever come back to your local government to campaign or to ask you for anything, that you should stone me”.

The state’s Executive Council recently approved the construction of roads in the 21 LGAs, which will be delivered within six months, while existing projects will be completed, according to the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor.
