The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) achieved significant recognition at the 2024 Service Compact (SERVICOM) Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)’ Awards held in Abuja on Tuesday.

The commission secured the Overall Best Performing Parastatal SERVICOM Unit (PSU) Award, along with the 2024 Best Performing PSU, Team B Award. Its Chief Executive, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe was honored with a Recognition Award for his commitment to citizen-centreded service delivery.

Mrs. Ann Ihuoma Dozie-Enukora from NNUPR’s SERVICOM Unit also received both the Overall Best Performing Nodal Officer and the Best Performing Nodal Officer, PSU Team B awards.

In all, the commission received four top awards and an Executive Recognition. The NUPRC’s SERVICOM Unit was commended for its 100 per cent commitment to service delivery, underscoring its consistent dedication to excellence in public service.

This year’s awards reflect NUPRC’s ongoing commitment to quality service delivery, a commitment that has been recognised in previous years as well. In 2022 and 2023, Komolafe received SERVICOM commendations for his leadership in enhancing customer-focused service delivery. The commission was also awarded the SERVICOM Partnership Award in 2023.

National Coordinator/CEO of SERVICOM, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli praised Komolafe for his dedication to improving service delivery within the commission. She emphasised the importance of ensuring that Nigerians receive timely and quality services from their government.

Akajemeli also acknowledged the NUPRC SERVICOM Unit for its sustained efforts in delivering excellent customer service.

Last October, the commission was honoured as the Best Federal MDA in Digital Transformation at the 2024 Nigeria Government Technology (GOVTECH) Conference and Awards, while Komolafe received the Distinguished Trailblazer Award.

The NUPRC has demonstrated its commitment to effective service delivery through initiatives such as full automation of statutory approvals and work processes.

Komolafe noted that adhering to the SERVICOM charter would further enhance timely and efficient job outputs, reinforcing the commission’s role as a lead regulatory agency in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
