Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo has emerged as The Sun Newspaper ‘Man of the Year 2024’.
According to the newspaper, the award is in recognition of his “excellent performance in governance with laudable achievements in his infrastructural and transformational advancement of the state, within a short period of his administration”.
Soludo will receive the prestigious award on 1 March 2025, at the award ceremony in Lagos.
The award underscores the governor’s numerous achievements and his progressive leadership in steering the affairs of the state to an enviable height.
Popularly called ‘Mr. Fixer’, ‘Mr. Reformer’, and ‘Mr. Jinx Breaker’, Soludo’s solution-driven governance has wowed critics, with developmental projects that signpost his sincere commitment to making the state a destination, a livable and prosperous state.
In a statement, Soludo’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburim, said that the Editor-in-Chief of Sun Newspapers, Mr. Onuoha Ukeh, and other editors of the Sun newspapers, visited the governor in Awka, the state capital, on Friday to present the award letter, which follows after weeks of a painstaking selection process by the management of the organization.
In his remark, Soludo, who was applauded for his infrastructure projects in the state’s 21 Local Government Areas, investments in human capital development, healthcare, education, youth empowerment, skills acquisition, and seed capital programmes, among others, thanked The Sun newspapers team for the unsolicited but purely based on merit conclusion based on the team’s provided rationale.
