Nollywood actor, Lateef Adedimeji, is set to release his epic biopic movie titled Lisabi.
The movie will be in two parts; the first one, titled ‘Lisabi: The Uprising’, will debut on the 25th of September while the second, titled, ‘Líṣàbí: A Legend is Born’ will be released months after January, 2025.
Given the plot quality of Nollywood these days, biopics are not new. It’s the same way Lateef Adedimeji has chronicled this movie to tell the story of Líṣàbi, an Abẹ́òkúta farmer who led a rebellion against the dictatorial Oyo empire which later established the independence of the Egba people in the 18th century.
The movie features Nollywood stars such as Mo Bimpe (Lateef Adedimeji’s wife), Ibrahim Yekini Itele, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Chatta, Eniola Ajao, Femi Adebayo, Lateet Adedimeji himself, and many others.
Líṣàbí is produced by Lateef Adedimeji and written by Niyi Akinmolayan and Yinka Olaoye.
