Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
Adeleke made the declaration after he was declared winner of the Osun State governorship election, in which he secured victory across 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas.
The governor, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party, expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for what he described as his support for a free, fair and credible election.
“At this point, I must deeply appreciate Mr President, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his strong support for a free and fair election,” Adeleke said.
He added: “President Tinubu is son of Osun State and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.”
Adeleke’s declaration comes after President Tinubu congratulated him on his electoral victory on Sunday.
According to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes.
Oyebamiji won in 11 local government areas, while Adeleke emerged victorious in 19.
The outcome secures Adeleke another term as governor of Osun State and further positions him as a key political figure in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
