Cameroon have emerged as Nigeria’s Round of 16 opponents in Saturday’s clash in Abidjan as the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations enters its knockout phase.
The Indomitable Lions beat Gambia 3-2 to topple Guinea at the second spot of Group C and confirm the clash with Nigeria, who also finished second in Group A on Monday.
Senegal scored twice in the second half of the other group fixture to overcome Guinea. The result saw Guinea dropped by a place to third spot.
The Syli Nationale however look likely to be among the best four third placed sides to progress to the Round of 16.
Defending champions Senegal, winners of of all group matches, will wait for the third best placed teams from Groups A, B or F.
