ANOH Gas Processing Company Limited (AGPC) has commissioned two 100,000-barrel condensate buffer tanks at its state-of-the-art gas processing facility in Assa North, Ohaji South Local Government Area of Imo State. The milestone marks another major achievement in the company’s ongoing commitment to building resilient infrastructure that supports Nigeria’s energy transition agenda.

The project, executed by Adano Engineering Limited, a wholly Nigerian-owned engineering and construction company, was awarded in August 2024 and reached completion last September, well within schedule and in line with AGPC’s exacting standards for safety, quality, and performance.

The scope of work covered the fabrication and construction of two 100,000-barrel condensate buffer tanks, along with associated piping, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation installations, as well as roof plate procurement. These tanks play a pivotal role in the safe handling and efficient storage of condensate from the ANOH Gas Plant’s processing operations, thereby enhancing the plant’s overall reliability and throughput capacity.

Throughout the execution phase, Adano Engineering demonstrated exceptional professionalism and technical competence, maintaining a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), and quality assurance.

Among the project’s notable achievements were:

  • Zero Lost Time Injury (LTI):The project recorded no safety incidents, reflecting a robust HSE culture and disciplined work execution.
  • Exceptional Quality:All welds passed inspection without any rework, underscoring precision and adherence to global quality standards.
  • Successful Hydrotesting:Both tanks were hydrotested and certified fit for service, confirming structural integrity and operational readiness.
  • On-Time Delivery:The project was completed within schedule, demonstrating efficient project management and execution excellence.

The commissioning ceremony, held recently, was presided over by the Managing Director of AGPC, Engr. Effiong Okon, in the presence of senior management of Adano Engineering, representatives from the energy sector, regulatory officials, and members of the host community.

Okon commended the company for its professionalism, dedication, and adherence to high standards throughout the project lifecycle.

He said: ‘This project is a strong example of what can be achieved when commitment to quality, safety, and local content come together. The successful completion of these tanks marks another significant milestone for the ANOH Gas Project and for Nigeria’s energy infrastructure’.

He further noted that the achievement reinforces AGPC’s vision of driving excellence in gas development while promoting local capacity and delivering long-term value to stakeholders.

The Managing Director of Adano Engineering Limited, Engr. Benson Adano also expressed appreciation to AGPC for the confidence reposed in the company, pledging continued partnership in delivering world-class engineering solutions that support national development objectives.

The completion and commissioning of the condensate buffer tanks represent another major stride in AGPC’s mission to deliver cleaner energy solutions, strengthen Nigeria’s gas infrastructure, and unlock greater efficiency within the country’s midstream sector.
