The Murtala International Airport Command of the Nigerian Customs Service has disclosed that it generated total revenue of N28 billion last year.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Customs Area Controller in charge of the command, Muhammed Gidado said that there was a N11.8 billion increase in revenue when compared to the N19 billon the command collected in 2021.
He attributed the increase to the integrity of passengers in the declaration of goods and the high level of compliance towards voluntary payment of duties.
“The seamless travellers’ clearance procedure adopted by the command over the period is worthwhile as evidenced in the MMIA command revenue collected from August to December 2022. This implies the effectiveness of initiated and adopted strategies”, Gidado said.
