Former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio has lauded the First Lady, Hajia Aisha Buhari on the completion and inauguration of the headquarters of African First Ladies Peace Mission (AFLPM), in Abuja.

He noted the inauguration “is a clear demonstration of the resilience, commitment, and dedication of the First Lady and her team towards ensuring peace and security in Nigeria and Africa“.

A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Jackson Udom, quoted the former Senate Minority leader as saying: “Let me congratulate our First Lady on this uncommon feat and achievement.

“Your commitment to peace in Africa by collaborating with other African countries is commendable because in the absence of peace, strifes take centre stage and in such avoidable situations, our women and youths are always at the receiving end of those conflicts.

“I thank you and your team for also setting up a research unit in the secretariat for the expansion of the frontiers of knowledge in the area of security and peace, apart from providing conducive office facilities and accommodation for the staff. Without peace, there can be no meaningful development in the world and that is why I commend you and your team for putting national peace and security on the front burner of our national enterprise”.
